Wilmington boy, Minooka man injured in head-on crash near Yorkville

NA-AU-SAY TOWNSHIP — A 16-year-old Wilmington driver struck a 26-year-old Minooka man in a head-on crash near Yorkville Thursday morning. Both men were injured.

Kendall County Sheriff's deputies responded around 7:18 a.m. Thursday to Grove Road north of Walker Road in Na-Au-Say Township, southeast of Yorkville, for a report of a two-vehicle crash with injuries, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

An unidentified 16-year-old male from the 0-200 block of First Street in Wilmington was passing vehicles while traveling south on Grove Road when he struck a 26-year-old man from the 10000 block of Grove Road in Minooka traveling north on the same road head on.

Both men were transported to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora with non-life threatening injuries, according to the release.

A citation was issued for improper passing.
