The Plano Historical Society 2018 calendars are printed and ready to sell.
The historical society decided to bring the past to the present and combine many pictures from years ago with pictures taken currently.
Present-day pictures were taken by Mike Wade, a lifelong resident of Plano.
The calendars were designed by Wade and the staff of Gforce Labels and Printing, located in Plano. Gforce is owned by the Gould family, who are lifelong residents of Plano as well.
“These pictures are an excellent comparison of Plano’s past and what Plano looks like currently,” said a news release from the historical society. “The calendars are great for all generations to enjoy.”
Calendars can be purchased at the Plano library, Plano City Hall, Plano commerce association and many local businesses, as well as from historical society members.
All proceeds from the calendar sales will go directly to the historical society. Calendar sales are the main fundraiser the historical society has.
The goal of the Plano Historical Society is to prepare a small building in downtown Plano to house and display the many historical articles the society currently possesses.
