World-famous alternative rock band The Goo Goo Dolls will perform at Arranmore Farm and Polo Club in Oswego on Saturday, July 14, with special guest Gavin DeGraw.
The concert is sponsored by Cal’s Angels, a pediatric cancer foundation in honor of Cal Sutter, 12, of South Elgin, who was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia, and died in 2006. In his memory, Cal’s Angels grants wishes to children fighting cancer, raises awareness, and helps to fund research.
“All proceeds from this show will go towards helping children at local hospitals who are battling cancer,” said Stacey Sutter, co-founder of Cal’s Angels. “We’ve organized many benefit events in the Chicago area, but this is our first concert. We are excited for everyone to come together for a cause that’s close to the hearts of so many – I’ve seen firsthand how events like this can greatly impact these kids.”
The headlining act, The Goo Goo Dolls, was formed in 1985, and is best known for its single “Iris.” Over the group’s existence, they’ve had 14 top 10 singles on multiple charts, and have sold more than 10 million albums worldwide. Other hit songs by the group include “Name,” “Broadway,” and “Black Balloon.”
Gavin DeGraw is a multi-platinum singer whose 2003 debut album sold more than 1 million copies. DeGraw is best known for his hit singles including “I Don’t Want To Be,” “Follow Through,” and “Chariot.”
