Roundup: Oswego East team, Oswego's Clifton and Ronning reach bowling sectionals

GIRLS BOWLING

Oswego East: Led by Kiana Krahulik's 1,309 series, second individually, the Wolves took second place behind Lockport at the regional meet to qualify for sectionals. Oswego East bowled a 5,724 total, second to Lockport's 5,989. Kyleigh Rogers bowled a 1,223, Kassy Krahulik a 1,066 and Kissy Villadores at 1,064 for the Wolves.

Oswego: Rachel Clifton and Brianna Ronning both qualified for sectionals for the Panthers at the regional meet. Clifton bowled a 1,275 six-game series, third-best in the field at regionals, with a high game of 247. Ronning rolled a 1,059 series with a high game of 203.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Oswego varsity: Katie Beebe scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Panthers past Joliet Central 49-44 on Feb. 1. Julie Henrikson added nine points, Angelina Schlinger had seven points and five assists, and McKenna Engler seven points and four steals for Oswego.

Oswego freshmen: The Panthers played two games on Feb. 3 against Bartlett, losing the first game 27-18 and winning the second 40-15. Grace Davis had a season-high 22 points and Adrianna Melero added 10 points in the win.

On Feb. 1, Oswego played two games against Joliet Central, dropping the first game 28-27. Taylor Williams and Davis each scored eight points for the Panthers. Oswego lost the second game 44-28 despite Melero's eight points.

The Panthers lost to Newark 42-15 on Jan. 31. Kaitlyn Tillmon and Olivia Solis each scored four points for Oswego.
