To the Editor:
What has happened to the “old fashioned” idea of caring for others who have a need? I watched today as a neighbor used his snow blower to clear the driveways and sidewalks of five neighbors across the street from me – all able-bodied men, I might add.
Yet here I am, 83 years old and dependent upon oxygen, and when my areas are cleared it is because I have to ask and pay someone to do it. As I watched his kindness to others, I was sad and lonely and I speak up here for others who are in the same boat as I am.
Folks, look around you at the elderly or infirm or those who live alone. We should not have to ask.
