Kendall County sheriff's reports

Minor injuries in crash

Two Plano residents were injured in a single-vehicle crash in the 8600 block of Caton Farm Road in Kendall Township Feb. 10 at 12:10 p.m., according to the county sheriff’s office. Police said the driver of the vehicle, Alontre Warren, 20, and a passenger in his vehicle, Jaslyn Norris, were both taken to Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora for treatment of minor injuries. Police said the crash occurred when Warren lost control of his vehicle while driving east on Caton Farm Road, and it struck a utility pole.

Boulder Hill theft reported

County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a report of a theft from a home in the 0-99 block of Eastfield Road in Boulder Hill. Police said the victim reported that electronic items were stolen.

Cellphone charger taken

County sheriff’s deputies took a report of a theft and property damage in the 2000 block of Plainfield Road in Oswego Township Feb. 12. Police said a cellphone charger was taken and a cellphone damaged in the incident.

Motorist injured, facing charges

A Yorkville resident, Erica L. Smith, 22, was injured when she lost control of her vehicle while driving and it went into a ditch in the 9600 block of Grove Road in NaAuSay Township Feb. 7 at 9:59 a.m., according to the county sheriff’s office. Police said Bristol-Kendall Fire Protection District EMS personnel took Smith to an area hospital. Police said she has been charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Criminal damage

County sheriff’s deputies took a report of damage to a mailbox in the 5600 block of Audrey Avenue in Bristol Township Feb. 10 at 10:45 p.m. Police said a witness observed the mailbox being damaged and the homeowner then contacted police. The case remains under investigation, according to police.

Warrant arrest

County sheriff’s deputies took Taj Abdul-Aziz, 22, of Aurora into custody from North Aurora police Feb. 7 at 8:18 p.m. in the 2000 block of Orchard Road in Montgomery. Police said Abdul-Aziz was arrested on a warrant for a prior retail theft charge. She is being held at the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville pending court proceedings.

Investigate River Road theft

County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a report of miscellaneous items being stolen from a home in the 11000 block of River Road in Bristol Township near Plano sometime between Jan. 1 and Feb. 4.

WaaKeeSha Drive home damaged

County sheriff’s deputies took a report Feb. 10 of a home being damaged in the 4600 block of WaaKeeSha Drive in Oswego Township. Police said the damage occurred sometime between Jan. 20 and Jan. 27. The case remains under investigation, police said.

Hit-and-run reported

An Aurora resident told county sheriff’s deputies that another vehicle struck his vehicle while he was driving on Route 30 south of Route 34 in Oswego Feb. 9 at 10:50 a.m. Police said the offending vehicle drove off without leaving any information.
