Oswego police are investigating a fraud incident reported to have occurred Feb. 8 at 4:43 p.m. at an electronics store in the 2600 block of Route 34. Police said two Chicago residents were victimized in the incident.
Domestic battery arrest
Oswego police arrested Frank T. Ramos, 24, of the 80th block of Seton Creek Drive, Oswego, Feb. 7 at 10:20 a.m. on a charge of domestic battery. Police said Ramos was transported to the county jail in Yorkville pending court proceedings.
Facing battery charge
Oswego police arrested Jeffrey A. Callaway, 48, of the 300 block of Taft Drive, Oswego, at his residence Feb. 10 at 10:25 a.m. on a charge of domestic battery. Police said Callaway was transported to the county jail in Yorkville pending court proceedings.
ID theft costly to victim
Oswego police are investigating an incident in which someone used another individual’s Social Security number to open a debit card account and completed a $280 withdrawal from an ATM. Police said the incident occurred Feb. 8.
A vehicle parked in the 100 block of Gates Creek Drive was burglarized Feb. 7 at 6:45 p.m., according to Oswego police. $300 was taken from the vehicle, police said.
Public indecency investigation
Oswego police are investigating a report of public indecency that occurred in a parking lot in the 2300 block of Route 30 Feb. 7 at 7:40 p.m. Police said the victim reported observing a male subject masturbating while in a vehicle parked next to the victim’s.
Oswego police took a report of a retail theft from a store in the 2700 block of Route 34 Feb. 8 at 5:20 p.m. Police said merchandise valued at $8.99 was taken.
Oswego police arrested Zachary S. Green, 18, of the 170 block of Hazelnut Lane, Aurora, and a juvenile on Route 30 at Hill Avenue 9:52 p.m. on charges of unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor. Police said the suspects are scheduled to appear in court later this month.
Plainfield man facing charges
Oswego police arrested Calvin D. McGaughy, 35, of the 13000 block of Oakdale Drive, Plainfield, after stopping his vehicle on Washington Street at Ashland Street Feb. 7 at 4:36 p.m. Police said McGaughy has been charged with driving on a suspended license, speeding and having no insurance. He posted bond and was released pending a court appearance next month.
Motorist facing charges
Oswego police arrested Ismael Bargas-Barazza, 19, of the 500 block of East New York Street, Aurora, after stopping his vehicle on Route 30 at Goodwin Drive Feb. 8 at 8:43 a.m.. Police said Bargas-Barazza was cited for speeding and charged with driving without a valid license. He posted bond and is scheduled to appear in court on the charge next month.
Oswego police took a report of a burglary to a vehicle parked in the 400 block of Grapevine Trail Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Police said property worth less than $300 was stolen from the vehicle.
Underage drinking charge
Oswego police arrested a 15-year-old girl on a charge of consumption of alcohol by a minor Feb. 9 at 1:45 a.m. at a residence in the 600 block of Manhattan Circle. Police said court proceedings for the suspect are pending.
