Arrest after hitting squad car
Yorkville police arrested Eugene D. Mitchelle, 44, of the 4000 block of Cummins Street, Yorkville, at 5:36 a.m. on Feb. 8 on charges of driving with a revoked license following an accident involving a Kendall County Sheriff's Office squad car on Route 34 just west of Cannonball Trail. Police said they also ticketed Mitchelle for improper backing for twice striking the squad car, and also cited him for operating an uninsured vehicle.
Fight between mother, son
Yorkville police responded to a call from an adult male stating that his mother had scratched his face during a domestic argument at 10:10 a.m. on Feb. 9. Police said they learned that the man and his mother were both pushing each other during the incident. No one was charged, and no medical attention was necessary for either person, police said.
Passenger has warrant
Yorkville police arrested Jason M. Newton, 44, of the 1500 block of Orchid Street, Yorkville, at 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 9 following a two-vehicle accident in which he was a passenger in the vehicle that was struck. Police learned that Newton had a valid in-state warrant for his arrest and took him into custody, police said.
Car ticketed after struck by plow
Yorkville police ticketed Kyle D. Rawle, 21, of the 3000 block of Tyler Creek Court, Yorkville, with a local ordinance violation for parking in the street after two inches of snowfall at 10:10 a.m. on Feb. 12. Rawle was ticketed after a city of Yorkville snowplow backed into his vehicle that was parked in the street. Rawle removed the vehicle from the street after being given the ticket, police said.
Drivers sent to hospital
Two drivers were sent to Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora following a two-vehicle crash at Route 47 and Kennedy Road at 5:36 p.m. on Feb. 7. Yorkville police said a Toyota driven by Rebecca A. Gengler, 42, of the 8000 block of Jericho Road, Big Rock, was stopped at a red light in the northbound lane of Route 47 just south of Kennedy Road when a Lexus driven by Andrew A. Zeile, 68, of the 200 block of Larkdale Row, Wauconda, struck the Toyota's rear bumper. Both Gengler and Zeile were sent to the hospital for treatment of their injuries, and both vehicles were towed, according to police.
iPod Pro stolen from business
Yorkville police said a man stole an iPod Pro from a business in the 1600 block of North Beecher Road on Feb. 4. The man entered a vehicle driven by a woman and left, police said. Police said they are reviewing security footage.
