Kendall County Spanglish 4-H Club leader Julie Jeffries organized and led a workshop to teach about building bridges in December. Club members learned about what shape is the strongest when you are designing a bridge and what makes a bridge efficient.
After the workshop, members were invited to design a bridge and to submit it to the club for voting. Adalyn and Walter Behan submitted the winning design. The club met over the following weeks to work on the bridge so it was ready for the Bridge Bust Competition held at Cross Lutheran Church on Jan. 6.
Spanglish 4-H Club participated in the noncompetitive division of the bridge bust for the second year in a row.
