Kendall County Judge Timothy McCann has sentenced an Oswego man, Todd M. Falkos, 39, of the 10-20 block of Sherwick Road to a 30 year jail term for the repeated sexual assault of a minor child who resided in Yorkville.
In a statement, County State's Attorney Eric Weis said Falkos entered a guilty plea last Thursday to separate charges of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison on each of the charges. By law, each sentence must be served consecutively.
The state's attorney's office filed charges against Falkos early last year following an interview with the victim. According to Weis, the victim disclosed a series of assaults by Falkos, which started back in 2007 and ended in 2011, during a time when the victim was between 3 and 7 years old.
Members of the Yorkville and Sandwich police departments ultimately secured a confession from Falkos and he was charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child in both Kendall and DeKalb counties. Falkos has been in custody since his arrest in 2017.
At sentencing, the victim’s mother read an emotional statement describing how the victim had trusted Falkos and how the victim may never be able to trust anyone in the future. She described how Falkos had forever changed her child by his despicable actions. She ended by telling Judge McCann “He (Falkos) should be castrated, drawn and quartered, then left to rot on a pile of fire ants.”
