Yorkville: Christian Webb pitched six solid innings, striking out five and scattering six hits, to lead the Foxes past Harvest Christian 8-5 on May 15 for their 20th win of the season.
Luis Rodriguez threw a scoreless seventh for the save. Elias Flowers was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored and Luke Williams was 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored for Yorkville (20-8).
Yorkville scored three runs in the fifth inning and five in the sixth to beat Sandwich 9-1 on May 14. Ryan Reynolds limited the Indians to one run on two hits over six-plus innings, striking out four. Ty Liaromatis was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored, Zach Haddox 2-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and run scored, Stephen Sewruk 2-for-4 with an RBI and Jake Bivens was 2-for-2 with a sacrifice bunt.
Webb tossed a complete-game shutout, striking out 11, to lead the Foxes past Geneseo 10-0 on May 10. Haddox was 2-for-3 with a double and run scored and Sewruk 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Yorkville: Sycamore scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to beat Yorkville 2-1 on May 10, handing the Foxes their third loss in a row. The Foxes (11-14, 5-7) had flawless defense led by Lauren Howard, who pitched a complete game. On offense the Foxes only run came on a solo homerun by Skyla Baldwin with Teaghen Amwoza adding a double.
Newark: Sophie Schomer struck out nine batters in a one-hit shutout, leading the Norsemen past Gardner-South Wilmington 4-0 on May 10. Nikki Kala had three hits and an RBI and Becca Sweeney two hits and an RBI for Newark.
Becca Sweeney had two hits and four RBIs, Alyssa Schofield three hits, Naomi Sweeney two hits and Kala two RBIs in Newark's 11-2 win over Serena on May 2. Schomer struck out five over seven innings, allowing just three hits.
Yorkville: Catelyn Peterson and Crystal Ortega each scored two goals, Nicole Loquercio had a goal and an assist, Peyton Willie scored a goal, Jenny Nunez had two assists, and Maddie Grandys and Emily Brown each had an assist for the Foxes in a 6-1 win over Morris on May 10.
