Open Door Rehab gets grant for better wheelchair infrastructure

The $10,000 Community Needs Grant will support the purchase of portable lift systems, slings, reacher bars, and batteries for DeKalb County clients who use wheelchairs. This equipment will ensure safe, gentle and secure repositioning for clients and reduce risk of injury for caregivers. Open Door Rehabilitation Center is located in Sandwich. It provides unrivaled, high quality, person-driven services to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities to promote independence, growth and an exceptional quality of life for all clients.
