Softball: Oswego High School, Stanton family to create Stanton Scholarship Fund

Amanda Stanton, 26, was head varsity softball coach at Oswego High School, according to School District 308 officials. Police said Stanton was found dead along Plainfield Road, the possible victim of a hit and run accident. The investigation into Stanton's death is ongoing, police said.

The Oswego High School Athletic Department along with the Stanton family has announced that they will create the Stanton Scholarship Fund in honor of coach Amanda Stanton.  This scholarship will be awarded to an Oswego High School senior softball player each spring who demonstrates outstanding character and leadership on and off the field. 

All donations should be made to OHS Athletics and mailed to Oswego High School at 4250 State Rte. 71, Oswego, IL 60543.  Please include in the memo “Stanton scholarship fund."
