Montgomery police reports

Battery, resisting among charges

Montgomery police arrested Steffon W. Buie, 20, of the 400 block of Hinman Street, Aurora, July 4 at 10:55 p.m. at a business in the 800 block of Montgomery Road. Police said officers were told that Buie threw a beer bottle at a family member, causing a minor injury, and he resisted police. Buie was charged with domestic battery, disorderly conduct and resisting a peace officer. He was taken to the Kane County Jail in St. Charles pending a bond call.

DUI warrant arrest

Montgomery police arrested Ernesto Nava-Martinez, 20, of the 200 block of Keck Avenue, Aurora, after they stopped the vehicle in which he was a passenger in the 1300 block of Douglas Road on July 4 at 5:23 p.m. Police said Nava-Martinez was wanted on an Aurora police warrant for failure to appear in court on a driving under the influence charge. He posted bond and was released pending an appearance in the Aurora Branch Court.

Disorderly arrest

Montgomery police arrested Jordan B. Mckinney, 29, of the 2200 block of Gallant Fox Circle, Montgomery, at his home July 3 at 12:23 p.m. on charges of criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct. Police said officers were told that Mckinney got in a fight with a family member and damaged a cellphone and window. He posted bond and was released pending an appearance at the Kendall County Courthouse in Yorkville.

License violation

Montgomery police arrested Edwin Barajas, 20, of the 300 block of Oak Lane, Justice, after stopping his vehicle on Montgomery Road at Fourth Street on July 4 at 12:27 a.m. Police said Barajas was charged with driving on a suspended license. He posted bond and was released pending an appearance in the Aurora Branch Court.

Fleeing among charges

Montgomery police arrested Antoni A. Salgado, 37, of the 900 block of Symphony Drive, Aurora, after stopping his vehicle on Route 30 and Briarcliff Road on July 4 at 1:42 a.m. Police said when officers attempted to stop Salgado’s vehicle, which was traveling below the posted speed limit, he drove off at a high rate of speed. Officers, however, were able to catch up to and stop the car a short distance later. Salgado was charged with fleeing and eluding, speeding, driving without a valid license and impeding the flow of traffic. Salgado later posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.

License violation

Montgomery police arrested Susana Vazquez, 20, of the 500 block of Woodlawn Avenue, Aurora, after they stopped her vehicle in the 1300 block of Douglas Road on July 4 at 5:23 p.m. Police said Vazquez was charged with driving without a valid license and having no front registration. She posted bond pending an appearance in the Aurora Branch Court.

Naperville man arrested

Montgomery police arrested Carlos D. Tlahuetl-Nocelo, 22, of the 3200 block of Cool Springs Court, Naperville, after stopping the vehicle he was driving on Goodwin Drive at Emerald Drive on July 4 at 5:02 p.m. Police said Tlahuetl-Nocelo was charged with speeding, driving without insurance and driving on a suspended license. He posted bond and was released pending an appearance in Aurora Branch Court.

Retail theft arrest

Montgomery police arrested Jaharie D. Smith-Jackson, 25, of the 1100 block of Pine Grove Court, Aurora, on a charge of retail theft at a store in the 2000 block of Orchard Road at 5:24 p.m. July 1. Police said Smith-Jackson concealed merchandise and tried to leave the store without paying for it. Smith-Jackson posted bond and was released pending an appearance at the Kendall County Courthouse in Yorkville.

Motorist arrested

Montgomery police arrested Guadalupe B. Vargas, 25, of the 300 block of Trask Street, Aurora, after she failed to stop at a stop sign on River Street at Mill Street on July 2 at 8:43 a.m. Police said Vargas was charged with driving without a valid license and ticketed for disobeying a stop sign. She later posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.

License violation

Montgomery police arrested William R. Anaya, 43, of the 1400 block of Broadlawn Avenue, Plainfield, after stopping his vehicle on Route 30 at Orchard Road at 5 p.m. July 2. Police said Anaya was charged with driving on a suspended license. He posted bond and was released pending an appearance at the Aurora Branch Court.

Warrant arrest at station

Montgomery police arrested Jawan D. Crutcher, 22, of the 2200 block of Margaret Drive, Montgomery, after he came to the police station July 2 at 7:45 p.m. to speak with officers concerning a fight earlier that day in the 2000 block of Orchard Road. Police said Crutcher was wanted on a warrant for a prior charge of obstructing identification. He was later released pending an appearance at the Aurora Branch Court.

Turns himself in

Montgomery police arrested Pedro Lopez Bailon, 41, of the 1700 block of Wick Way, Boulder Hill, after he turned himself in to police July 9 at 10:26 p.m. Police said Bailon was wanted on a Kendall County warrant. He posted bond and was released pending an appearance at the Kendall County Courthouse in Yorkville.
