Meet Louisa May Alcott presented by Leslie Goddard: In celebration of the classic book "Little Women" turning 150 years old, Leslie Goddard will be portraying its author, Louisa May Alcott, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 19. Miss Alcott will share stories of her poverty-filled childhood, her struggles to succeed as a writer, and how "Little Women" came to be. Open to the public.
Matinee of "I Can Only Imagine": Enjoy the afternoon watching "I Can Only Imagine" at 1 p.m. Friday, July 20. Inspired by a story about Bart Millard, who lost his dad to cancer and expressed his feelings through song, creating a greatest hit. Popcorn and refreshments will be provided.
Hand & Foot Canasta: Don’t know how to play Hand & Foot Canasta? Don’t fret, learn how to play and enjoy the afternoon playing with other card lovers at 12:30 p.m. Friday, July 13.
Youth Summer Reading Activities: The Charles B. Phillips Library will be packed with fun activities for the kids all week, including storytime at 10 a.m. Monday, July 16; crafts at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 17; movies at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, featuring "Fievel Goes West" and "Tad the Lost Explorer"; and Activity Thursday at 1 p.m. July 19.
