To the Editor:
To People in the 14th U.S. Congressional District: As I marched with Lauren Underwood in Geneva in the Swedish Days Parade, I listened within to try to find a phrase to chant to the watching crowd and what I found was “What time is it?…..It’s Lauren’s Time!" And I believe it is time for someone to represent the regular people trying to make a living, raise their kids and feel that their lives have some meaning. I want someone in Washington who is aware of their vulnerability and can represent how precious this life is and how we need to not just feed our own mouths but consider everyone’s safety and dignity. Lauren Underwood is interested in representing the less fortunate and not making an already privileged life for some even better.
In my father’s last years, he often would say in an Irish accent (which was a bit of a stretch for him) how “It’s a great world if you don’t weaken." Well, let’s get real. We all are going to have our time when we will need others to help us. Let’s vote in someone who has real abilities to consider what is truly important in our lives. I invite you to look carefully at who Lauren Underwood is and what she’s about.
