Yorkville High School drama students will present the mystery "Widdershins" by Don Nigro at 7 p.m. this Friday and Saturday, March 15 and 16, in the school cafetorium. Tickets, priced at $7 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens, will be available at the door.
The play contains adult themes and is more suitable for middle school-age students and older.
The play is set in a seemingly peaceful house and then the entire English family vanishes suddenly and without a trace. Inspector Ruffing, grieving over the recent loss of his wife, sets out to discover what happened to the couple and their two daughters. In his attempts to solve the mystery, Ruffing is led into the depths of his own soul by the thoughts and visions of the missing father. The only clue is a piece of paper left on a desk with the word “Widdershins” written on it. Beautiful women, dark secrets, the Impressionists, and the Druids all figure in this unusual and thought provoking play.
