One cited, one hurt in Orchard Road crash
A Yorkville resident received minor injuries while another Yorkville resident was ticketed in a three vehicle crash at 7:59 a.m. March 26 at Orchard and Galena roads in Montgomery, according to a report issued by village police April 3. Police said the accident occurred when a northbound Honda Pilot driven by Amy Hosey, 23, of the 2000 block of Old Glory Court crossed over the centerline and into the southbound lane of traffic. Hosey’s vehicle collided with a southbound Nissan Altima driven by Katherine Thomas, 41, of the 200 block of Bertram Drive. The Thomas vehicle then spun into a Buick Century driven by Elaine Springer, 67, of the 100 block of Fox Chase Drive, Oswego. Police said Thomas was transported to Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora. Police said they ticketed Hosey for improper lane usage and violating the minimum speed regulation.
Juvenile motorist cited
Montgomery police ticketed a juvenile at 9:50 p.m. April 2 at Galena and Orchard roads after stopping his vehicle for traveling 71 mph in a 45 mph zone. Police said the juvenile was cited for speeding and driving without a valid license. The juvenile was released at the scene pending court proceedings.
Montgomery police arrested Michael J. Fivecoat, 29, of the 0-100 bock of Acorn Lane, Yorkville, after stopping his vehicle at 7:43 p.m. April 1 on Orchard and Knell roads. Police said Fivecoat was wanted on a warrant issued in Lee County. He posted bond and was released pending a court appearance in Lee County, police said.
Aurora man arrested
Montgomery police arrested Rashaud M. Jeffries, 21, of the 1200 block of Old Post Road, Aurora, after stopping his vehicle at 10:13 p.m. April 5 on Orchard and Galena roads. Police said officers noted an odor of cannabis inside the suspect’s vehicle and a search of the vehicle yielded about 40 grams of suspected cannabis. Jeffries was issued a complaint for unlawful possession of cannabis and ticketed for no license plate light and driving without insurance.
