A fire Sunday morning caused extensive damage to Plano home.
Little Rock Fox Fire Protection District Chief Greg Witek said firefighters were called to the fire in the 300 block of South Lew Street at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday.
Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke and flames coming from an enclosed breezeway between the house and garage.
A resident of the home was found outside near the street with no other persons inside, Witek said.
Witek said the resident was asleep on a couch when the fire started, which gave the fire a head start, allowing it to spread into the attic.
Firefighters had the fire under control at about 7:15 a.m., Witek said. However, firefighters remained at the scene until noon.
No injuries were reported.
Witek said the home received significant damage and was rendered uninhabitable.
Little Rock Fox firefighters were assisted by crews from the Bristol-Kendall, Oswego, Sandwich, Somonauk and Sugar Grove fire protection districts.
