Your pumpkins don’t have to be carved! With some creativity, you can give your jack-o-lanterns a spooky or a pretty makeover by transforming them into beautiful masterpieces. The following are some easy ideas that are sure to impress.
1. Pom-Pom Pumpkins
Glue colored pom-poms to pumpkins to create many designs. Attach the pom-poms by using a tacky glue. For a moon or a ghost, first paint your picture with acrylic paint. Let dry, then glue the pom-poms inside the lines to form your composition.
2. Stencil Pumpkins
This option allows the pumpkins to look amazing, without the mess. Apply a coat of white paint to a pumpkin and let it dry completely. Then tape on a Halloween stencil and use black paint to create a spooky design.
3. Just Paint Them
After you pick out the perfect pumpkin, use your arts and crafts supplies and let the painting and drawing begin! Whether you're going for scary, creepy or cool, everyone is bound to be excited about your design.
4. Fancy Sequins
You can create a cobweb by using hot glue and strings of sequins. Place the strings about halfway down the pumpkin. Next, place them horizontal with curved lines to form the complete design. A spider is optional, but really fun!
5. Painter’s Tape
Create a cat by using blue painter’s tape to mask out the eyes, mouth, nose, ears, and whiskers. Cover the rest with black acrylic paint. Let dry, then remove the tape to reveal. This can also be done for any spooky character such as a ghost or a goblin.
